2025 tested all of us who care about the health and well-being of our communities. Many of us have felt a profound moral distress as years of diligent, evidence-based work were dismantled—not for lack of merit, but rather in service to the profits of polluting industries.
What has carried us through this year is not the absence of hardship but the presence of solidarity. The health professionals in our network—across 30 states, 58 medical societies, and our CHEF Alumni Engagement Network (CAEN)—have continued to organize, educate, and defend the health and dignity of those they serve. They did this while caring for patients during disasters, navigating policy whiplash, and standing firm in spaces where science was being questioned or erased. Our 2025 Annual Report: Courage in Community highlights these collective efforts and our resolve to continue this important work.
