December 24, 2025 | ESSOPEN ARCHIVE | Dr. Keisha R Callins
In 2021, The Climate and Health Equity Fellowship (CHEF) was the first to implement an interdisciplinary program to empower physicians under-represented in medicine and from populations that face greater burdens from climate effects, to become leaders in climate and health equity education, advocacy, and policy solutions.
This year marks the 5th cohort of CHEF, a collaborative initiative of the Medical Society Consortium on Climate (MSCCH) and Health and the National Medical Association (NMA).
CHEF is an expanding network of physician voices across medical specialties with expertise in climate, health, and equity, to advance environmental justice with climate solutions that positively impact the health of diverse communities.
