We invite you to participate in an impactful webinar featuring Dr. Linda Rudolph, Senior Advisor of Climate, Health, and Equity at the Public Health Institute and Steering Committee Member of Fossil Free for Health Coalition. Dr. Rudolph will illuminate the pressing health vulnerabilities, including respiratory problems, heart disease, stroke, and cancer, faced by marginalized and low-income communities exposed to air pollution. She will also provide actionable strategies for creating robust, cross-sector partnerships among health professionals, policymakers, and community organizations.
Speaker Bio:
Dr. Linda Rudolph is a public health professional with decades of experience in local and state government and non-profits. She recognizes the climate and fossil fuels crisis as both a health emergency and a crisis for environmental, health, racial, and social justice. She believes that carefully crafted climate solutions represent the best opportunity to achieve health justice and a livable world for future generations. Social justice has been at the heart of her work — whether working for a labor union, a state Medicaid agency, in worker health and safety, or chronic disease prevention and health equity, Health in All Policies, or at the nexus of climate change, health, and equity.
Dr. Rudolph works with public health and medical professionals across the nation to build capacity for health advocacy in addressing the fossil fuels and climate crisis. Health is a universal value, physicians and nurses are trusted voices, and she believes their advocacy is critical in building the political and social will for climate action. She played a key role in developing the 2019 Climate, Health and Equity Policy Action Agenda, endorsed by over 150 health organizations. She was honored to be selected as a White House Champion of Change on climate and health by the Obama White House.
