Communicating for Impact: Action Skills Training

September 29 - November 10, 2026

Virtual

How we communicate about climate change, health, and equity matters. In a crowded and increasingly polarized information landscape, health professionals and advocates have an important opportunity to connect with new audiences, tell compelling stories, and build trust around the health impacts of climate change. This four-part webinar series will provide practical strategies and tools to help participants communicate with greater clarity, intention, and impact. If you weren’t able to join us last year, we encourage you to browse past recordings. All 2025 session recordings can be found here.

Please register to join this training workshop, indicating the individual sessions you are interested in attending (or select all). All sessions will be recorded and shared with registrants after each workshop.

Together with our partner Burness, we will host hour-long webinars on the following topics:

Communications 101: How to Make the Case About Climate Change, Health, and Equity | WATCH THE RECORDING HERE
Tuesday, September 29 | 3 P.M. ET // 12 P.M. PT
Reaching new audiences with messages about climate change, health, and inequities can feel like an overwhelming challenge in chaotic and polarized times. This session will help provide guidance on how to approach talking about these intersecting issues, insights into how audiences hear us, and tools to help health voices speak more confidently and intentionally about climate change. If you joined or watched the 2025 Communications 101 sessions, we still recommend you attend this session as it reflects some new key messages we have developed.

Telling Impactful Stories: How to Craft Effective Stories and Use Them Strategically
Tuesday, October 13 | 3 P.M. ET // 12 P.M. PT
Storytelling is a powerful tool to capture the attention and imagination of our audiences, all to open them up to new ways of thinking. This session will help attendees learn how to use stories strategically in their advocacy. We will discuss different types of stories, why we tell them, and best practices for crafting memorable stories. We’ll walk through an exercise to find and sharpen your story.

Closing the Information Gap: How to Harness the Power of Social Media
Tuesday, October 27 | 3 P.M. ET // 12 P.M. PT
Despite mounting evidence of climate change’s health impacts, only 3% of climate-related content online mentions health — a striking gap given that social media has become a primary source of information for a growing share of the public. This disconnect leaves a critical narrative vacuum; one too often filled by misinformation or silence. This session will explore how health professionals can close that gap.

Breaking Through: Building Trust Through Resonant Communication
Tuesday, November 10 | 3 P.M. ET // 12 P.M. PT
The landscape of climate and health issues is always changing, and our audiences are constantly bombarded with competing messengers and messages. During this session, we’ll share some strategies for showing up in spaces in ways that are resonant, shift the narrative, and build trust.
