Climate Change, Health, and Equity: The Role of Informatics and AI

The Medical Society Consortium on Climate and Health and the Climate, Health, and Informatics Working group through the American Medical Informatics Association are excited to partner with the NorCal Symposium on Climate, Health, and Equity to host a meeting on climate, health, and AI. The NorCal Symposium is a yearly event planned by Stanford, UCSF, and UC Davis that tackles timely and salient issues to the climate crisis with a focus on solutions. This year, the symposium will focus on the role that informatics and AI can play in improved mitigation, adaptation, and resilience with the worsening impacts of climate change. The Symposium will draw from local community and environmental justice organizations, public health experts, informaticians, and public health experts to discuss opportunities for cross sectoral collaborations.
The target audience for this symposium includes clinicians, data scientists, AI/ML practitioners, climate scientists, public health professionals, policymakers, and any individuals interested in advanced technologies to tackle climate change and its health impacts.
