Disaster Specific Experiences Survey

Disaster events can disrupt daily activities at cancer centers, creating challenges for the provision of quality cancer care. Damages to buildings and equipment, power and water outages, staff and supply shortages can all limit a facility’s ability to operate safely and effectively during and after a disaster.

We invite all professionals involved in the functioning of healthcare facilities—physicians, nurses, social workers, patient navigators, emergency managers, mental health professionals, and others—to share their experiences.

Take this brief, confidential survey to inform a new collaborative between the American Cancer Society and the American College of Surgeons focused on strengthening cancer care before, during, and after disasters.

This survey seeks to understand cancer centers’ experience with past disasters and current disaster risk management practices to improve preparedness and response moving forward.
