Lecture Series: A Heating Planet

 A Heating Planet will explore the effects of climate change in Idaho and the need for climate conversations around solutions.We will also discuss heat impacts on human health, how to determine the root cause with patients and improve patient outcomes in our heating environments.

This event is part of a four part lecture series co-sponsored by St. Luke’s Sustainability, in which we will introduce the science behind climate change, then how it impacts human health, and finish with two talks on how healthcare can lead the way to a sustainable future and improved global health.

The first talk is Wednesday, May 18, featuring Dr. Jen Pierce from Boise State, who will give us the science behind climate change.  Dr. Marc Futernick, an Emergency Medicine doctor in California, will then speak to the human health effects of extreme heat.
