September 19-20 – Advocacy Day and Retirement Celebration

Advocacy Day and Retirement Celebration

Monday & Tuesday, September 19-20, 2022 | Virtual & In Person

Advocacy Training and Meetings on Capitol Hill

September 19th – September 20th, Washington D.C. and Virtual

The Consortium has continued to build a critical mass of advocates and member societies that provide a critical perspective that effectively communicates the urgency of climate action. September is an opportune time ahead of the November midterm elections to share evidence, our priorities, and compelling stories. In-person meetings with members of Congress and their staff are more effective for both constituents and policymakers and serve as a vital organizing tool to build sustained energy and skills amongst advocates.

Please note: you must be available to participate in the Advocacy Day prep meeting from 3:30 pm – 5:30 pm ET on September 19th and have the entire day of September 20th blocked off (8:00 am – 5:00 pm ET) in order to participate in the Advocacy Day, for both in-person and virtual participants.

Lodging, Transportation, and Meals:

  • Attendees will be responsible for any transportation to and from the airport and to the meeting locations
  • Attendees are encouraged to reserve a hotel room or short-term rental (e.g. Airbnb) in Washington, DC near Capitol Hill or along the Orange Line Metro for easy access. The Consortium will reserve a block of rooms.
  • Lunch will be served at the 9/19 training and refreshments and hors d’oeuvres will be served at the networking event on Monday evening 9/19, but otherwise attendees are asked to cover their own meal expenses.
