Robert McLean is the Immediate Past-President of the American College of Physicians (ACP). He practices internal medicine and rheumatology in New Haven, Connecticut with Northeast Medical Group of Yale New Haven Health, where he also serves as a Medical Director. A graduate of Williams College and the University of Maryland School of Medicine, he completed his internal medicine residency and then a rheumatology fellowship at Yale. He is an Associate Clinical Professor of Medicine at the Yale School of Medicine. He has been involved in healthcare advocacy at the local and national level with the ACP for over 20 years. ACP, the largest specialty organization in the United States with over 159,000 members, released a high-profile policy paper on Global Climate Change and Health in 2016 which outlines climate change as a public health crisis needing our attention.
