Sylvanus Teboh, MD is a Resident Physician in Psychiatry in the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences, University of North Dakota School of Medicine and Health Sciences with a professional focus that bridges clinical and forensic psychiatry, public health, and systems leadership. He earned his Master’s degree in Epidemiology from the University of Buea, Cameroon and MD from Saba University School of Medicine, Dutch Caribbean.
His professional interests include forensic and correctional psychiatry, public health and administrative psychiatry, and healthcare administration and leadership, with particular attention to improving access, quality, and continuity of care for underserved and structurally vulnerable populations. He is the Founder of the Pan-African Mental Health Institute, supporting mental health awareness, capacity-building, and culturally grounded approaches to care across African and diaspora communities. He also serves as Resident representative on the Board of the North Dakota Psychiatric Society.
As a Climate and Health Equity Fellowship (CHEF) Fellow, Dr Teboh is committed to feasible, equity-centered work that strengthens community resilience and improves mental health outcomes, particularly where structural barriers and climate-related stressors intersect.
