Wendy Johnson, MD, MPH, is a Family and Addiction Medicine physician, community activist, and award-winning author of the book Kinship Medicine: Cultivating Interdependence to Heal the Earth and Ourselves. Her career includes stints scaling up HIV treatment in Mozambique and overseeing an urban public health department in Cleveland, Ohio. She completed medical school at The Ohio State University, received her MPH from Johns Hopkins University. She currently sees patients at a community clinic in Northern New Mexico and holds faculty appointments at the University of Washington and the University of New Mexico. She is a member of the American Academy of Family Physicians, has been a long-time member of the American Public Health Association, and is a founding member of Healthy Climate New Mexico.
