Heat waves are worsening in frequency, duration, and severity and affecting parts of the United States unaccustomed and poorly adapted for heat. The summer of 2023 demonstrated major gaps in preparedness that need to be addressed to provide the best care to vulnerable patients. In this session, you will learn about which populations are the most vulnerable to the effects of heat, concrete counseling tips to keep patients safe, and policy opportunities to better protect these populations moving forward.
