Carla Wright, MD

Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation | Milwaukee, Wisconsin | National Medical Association (NMA)

Dr. Carla Wright was born and raised in Detroit, Michigan. Her mother was a librarian and her father was a prominent physician in the area. Working in her father’s office at a young age grew her interest in medicine. Her undergraduate education was at Vassar College and went on to attend the University Of Michigan Medical School. Dr. Wright’s Specialty Training was in Rehabilitation Medicine (PM&R) in Chicago, Illinois. She relocated to Milwaukee Wisconsin after her residency and lives there to this day. Dr. Wright initially worked in PM&R Medicine but later shifted her focus to General and Geriatric Medicine when taking a clinical position at Isaac Coggs Health Center, and later at the affiliated Clinic MLK Heritage Health Center where she developed a Memory Clinic at MLK. In 2023, she retired from Milwaukee Health Services and currently participates in voluntary organizations in the area including Cream City Medical Society and WHPCA. Outside of her professional career, Dr. Wright enjoys traveling with her significant other, especially their trips to a lovely cabin in Colorado, and is a “mother” to their two Labrador retrievers.
