“Of all forms of inequality, injustice in health is the most shocking and inhumane” – Dr. Martin Luther King

Dr. Kiel is an advocate for both patients and physicians.  For patients, she is working to be a catalyst that shifts how we care for and engage with patients to improve health literacy and increase shared decision-making for patients and providers in pursuit of health equity and achieving improved health outcomes. Dr. Kiel is also vocal about recognizing exploitation of and burnout among physicians and other healthcare workers which has only increased as a result of the pandemic.

Dr. Kiel has been working in the community hospital settings since she was a medical student at Morehouse School of Medicine.  She completed her Anesthesia residency at Westchester County Medical Center in  2005. After her residency, she joined the Harlem Hospital Center affiliated with Columbia University providing anesthetic management for general surgery,  labor and delivery, and other subspecialties. Currently, Dr. Kiel is an attending anesthesiologist working in the New York area.
